Shawn & Mira {Wedding}

OK, I am skipping around a little bit here, but I wanted to showcase this reception place.

Shawn & Mira were married in November, so they needed an inside location, and they wanted to do everything in the same place.  They chose Rock Financial in Novi.  I have done bridal shows there, and from everything I have seen it is just a big building with space in it.  Recently they opened up their reception areas, and they are gorgeous!  You basically get to start from scratch and build whatever you want.  Now, I wasn’t really sure what to expect as a ceremony location, but they did an amazing job setting up the room for Shawn & Mira to say their I Do’s.  They wanted a little bit of a Christmas theme, so the aisle was lined with trees with Christmas lights.  It was beautiful!  Plus the food was really good, and you really can’t ask for more than that :)  Also, the hotel where they got ready, The Hotel Baronette by Twelve Oaks Mall, had a great place to do their first look, and some nice photo spots throughout the hotel.

On top of the really nice locations, Shawn & Mira were so much fun to work with.  They braved the cold, and Mira walked around in the woods in 3 inch heels!  I think after seeing the pics that Mira should be a super model:)  I’ll let the pics speak for themselves…..

Snow Day!

I don’t very often post personal pics, only for  the fact that I like to take snapshots, but don’t like to worry much about making them look professional.  But today I woke up motivated to get some update pics of the pups.  It was the first big snow of the year, and it has been coming down all day.  Rusty & Kota LOVE the snow and were ready to play as soon as we got outside.  I had a hard time narrowing these down, so there’s a lot!  My babies are so cute!  In case some of you want to look back at them when they were small and cuddly you can see some old pics of them here & here.

Jon & Leah {Wedding}

I had the opportunity to shoot Jon and Leah’s BEAUTIFUL wedding at Cranbrook house this past September.  Cranbrook is one of my absoulte favorite places to shoot, whether for a wedding, engagement, or portrait session.  you will see a few other sessions posted in a bit that I shot there.  You may remember their engagement session that we shot there last fall.  We used some of the same spots because we loved them so much :)  Leah got ready in Birmingham at the Townsend hotel, which was really nice, and had a lot of natural light for makeup.  The reception was at Pine Lake Country Club, and was beautifully set up.  Jamie Honce was there again to do a day of edit that you can see on his blog.  Thanks for letting me be part of your day guys.  It was an absolutely  beautiful perfect day!!!

I always love when make-up artists have their kits all strewn around.  It makes such a colorful picture :)

Leah’s dress was unique in the fact that it was two pieces.  It was absolutely gorgeous, and I had to macgyver it into a hanging position to get a good picture.  I found out once she put it on that the skirt goes over the dress though, so this isn’t entirely accurate, but still pretty.Holy Blue eyes!!There was a Jewish tradition during the ceremony where Jon and Leah both wrote a letter to each other and the Rabbi read them aloud.  They were hilarious and so well written, I wish they did that at every wedding. LOVE this one!
