From Poodles to Greyhounds

I got a lot of comments from people about the winter shoot I did with my dogs, so I thought I would update you all this summer.  It was almost 90 degrees here on Memorial day and I was a little concerned that my pups would die of heat exhaustion so I made them a hair appointment to get their summer cuts.  We always joke that they look like little greyhounds, so I did a little before and after shoot.  People always think they are labradoodles when their hair is long, but just because we don’t cut their hair like it, they are standard poodles.  They don’t shed!  So here are a few portraits of them and some fun playing pics.   undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedI put up a new portrait gallery on my website, so go check that out!  If anyone just wants some pics of their pet, or a family and the pet I obviously love shooting animals :)

Happy Earth Day!

In celebration of Earth Day today, I am happy to announce that we are now officially members of Greener Photography! This is an organization that highlights photographers that are implementing practices within their business that are environmentally friendly.  We have been doing eco friendly things within our business for a few years now, and are glad to have a platform to grow that even more and communicate with others doing the same.  It is also a great way to reach clients that want to incorporate eco friendly practices into their lives and weddings.  So in honor of Earth Day I am going to share with you some really old photos that I took in college in some of my favorite classes: nature and underwater.  I was fortunate enough to get to go to one of the best photo schools in the country, Brooks Institute of Photography, which happens to be located in sunny Santa Barbara, California.  There I had the opportunity to learn how to scuba dive and got to spend 5 weeks going out in a boat and taking photos.  I really fell in love with diving and seeing and interacting with animals that most only see in zoos.  I think these pictures show some really beautiful parts of our earth, and my favorite part, animals :)

Snow Day!

I don’t very often post personal pics, only for  the fact that I like to take snapshots, but don’t like to worry much about making them look professional.  But today I woke up motivated to get some update pics of the pups.  It was the first big snow of the year, and it has been coming down all day.  Rusty & Kota LOVE the snow and were ready to play as soon as we got outside.  I had a hard time narrowing these down, so there’s a lot!  My babies are so cute!  In case some of you want to look back at them when they were small and cuddly you can see some old pics of them here & here.
